Foundry Medievals

These are Hundred Years War archers sculpted by either Michael or Alan Perry. It's the first time I've experimented with putting flowery bits on the base of a model. I think it's a nice and easy way to add more detail to a base apart from the usual rocks and static grass.

The Knight is a Foundry Barons Wars model, but it was originally released by Citadel as an F4 Feudal. You can see him in the Citadel catalog picture below as Lord Flaxby.

Obviously the last model isn't very Medieval, but I thought I'd put him in here anyway. He's a fairly generic adventurer type. Found here. Unfortunately I forgot to give him eyes!!

Unreleased Citadel Wizard from 1987

I had some trouble figuring out exactly what he's holding in his left hand. In the end it was between either a burger (the part I painted white could have been a big piece of floppy lettuce) or a loaf of bread/cake on a cloth on a silver plate. I went with the last one in the end but it was close.

Unreleased Foundry Darkest Africa Pygmy

This was a monthly giveaway model a while ago.

C35 Knight of Chaos from 1984

Painted by me a year and a half ago. I have always thought of this model as Elric of Melnibonè.

Photographed by Steve Casey

I hope to paint a complete set of these one day!

Unreleased 1987 Citadel Orcs

Sculpted by Kevin Adams. These are listed on the Collecting Citadel Miniatures Wiki as Orc boys:

Interestingly I have another casting of the first Orc (the one with the sword) where he still has his right tooth. I didn't notice until after I painted this one.

Wargames Foundry 30th Anniversary Commemorative Model: Cliff Ansell with his Four Careers

This is my first ever post on a blog! Here is Foundry's latest giveaway model, painted by me. And here is the text about it from the Foundry site:

It is the the 30th anniversary of Wargames Foundry on Monday 18th of August. This is also the birthday of our founder Clifford Ansell; So we have an unusual giveaway for you: It's a model of Cliff . The Cliff model comes with four models of model soldiers. Cliff has had four careers in his life: coal mining, the navy, teaching maths and making model soldiers. We have provided four appropriate models of  model  soldiers as part of the giveaway.  Every order will receive the miniature of Cliff and his four careers for the next month.

The model of the coal miner is cast on to Cliff's right hand, but the other three careers come loose in the bag so that you get to pick which one you stick in his left hand and which ones you attach to the base.

The model stands a bit over 40mm tall.

In these pictures he is already superglued on to his wooden display base to go under a clear plastic dome.
